Originally a guitarist, RANDALL NEAL has played many styles of music from rock, jazz, and country to afro-pop and reggae. His love of Brazilian music stems from his youth and his fascination with the outstanding geography of Rio, often begging his parents to take him there.

After years of listening to the foremost Brazilian bandolim master, Jacob do Bandolim, Randy decided to dedicate himself to the instrument and the music. Randy also performs for Brazilian dance classes and with various Brazilian artists in the Northwest. In his playing, Neal displays a profound understanding of the original recordings of choro classics, yet he also infuses the melodies with his own compellingly passionate style.
