WALKING WORKSHOP

Saturday, April 28th at the Fremont Abbey from 10 am – 1 pm. $50.

Awareness Through Movement: Comfortable and Dynamic Walking

Comfortable walking contributes to a happy and healthy life.  Consider the benefits of a satisfying walk throughout the varying stages and ages of your life.  Dynamic movement is essential as we age to prevent limitations and conditions such as osteoporosis. No matter what your age or history, more ease is the result of how you move.  This course will lead you through movements designed to improve the full-bodied aspects of walking. Class size is limited so that every person receives individual attention and is given lessons to take home that apply to their particular needs.  Based on Feldenkrais Method.

“I keep coming back to Janelle’s dance classes, because I know I am in good hands with a teacher who has a vast knowledge of the human body and movement from her Feldenkrais practice and experience as a dancer. I have always felt a non-competitive tone in her dance classes. After each class it is remarkable the amount of freedom I feel in my body from the places I held stiff before but may not have been aware of.

I have done several private lessons with Janelle for work injuries from the strain and repetition of kitchen work. She has provided relief every time, with gentle touch and manipulation of my body on her table. I have never had the same pain twice as a result of these lessons.

Through Feldenkrais and Bones for Life classes I now feel strong in my body after childbirth and pregnancy.  I have discovered a more supportive posture.
